NPR talked about a group today called CeaseFire; which involves former gang members, now called gang “interrupters”, trying to cease and prevent youth violence in Chicago. This organization is in the spotlight again after a new documentary about the group, The Interrupters, has been released. Some of what this documentary highlights is three different interrupters stories and their strive for change. The documentary has already won several awards from film festivals and is an official selection for Sundance.
